For the moment the willowy comedy legend slips through the stage curtains, reality goes scampering for dear life out the back door of the club. In a spectacular storm of pure logic turned abruptly surreal by hairpin-turn punchlines, Emo Philips delivers a message that sends audiences here and across the Atlantic rolling on the floor with laughter. If you think our world has lost its spark and succumbed to the dull and mundane, you’ve got the equation of life figured out all wrong. Cuz E = MO Squared.

Jackie Kashian: (HBO, Comedy Central, VH1) Jackie Kashian speaks highly of herself in the third person. And she anticipates your questions… Yes, the material is true. A caricature, her father likes to point out. (Right… keep telling yourself that.) Kashian is the youngest of six children and was raised by wolves. Wolves that meant well and did their best. In 1985, Jackie got drunk and heckled Sam Kinison in Madison, Wisconsin. She was told, by management, that open mike night was on Sundays. A pretty tale, you'll agree? Yet… still no jail time. Her parents are very proud.

L.C. Monty Jr.: (Winner of Los Angeles’ “Funniest Man in the Valley” competition) From the moment L.C. Monty Jr. takes the stage, he engages the audience and plays the moment with a barrage of one liners, establishing himself quickly as a comic to be reckoned with. Coupled with a strong, yet likable stage presence, his unique brand of reality-based humor, story-telling and brilliant observations will have you busting a gut and laughing until it hurts… not to mention his dead on impressions of Judge Joe Brown, Bill Cosby, Redd Foxx, Morgan Freeman and others. So brace yourself and get ready for a fantastic ride.

Master of Ceremonies

Rich Kronfeld: (“Tightline”, The Comedy Central show “Let's Bowl!”, “Trekkies” and “Six Days in Roswell”) The comedy fundraiser is privileged to open its curtains with an Icon recognized locally and abroad. Rich Kronfeld began his performing/writing career on public access television in Minneapolis. In a very short while, his “Dr. Sphincter” character became synonymous with bold, unconventional, underground comedy. Kronfeld contributed a voluminous body of sketch work, narratives, and taped live performances which access channels all over the state lined up to air and which received several showings at the Walker Art Center. His public access work led him to “Ozone Radio,” an original series produced by Twin Cities PBS affiliate, KTCA. To this day, Kronfeld remains at the center of a true Minnesota cult following.
