Our inspiration comes from Legacy Pictures is looking for scripts of high cinematic quality. Our goal is to provide an artistic home for the development and production of family-oriented screenplays that entertain, educate and empower audiences without discrimination. The stories should uphold the ideology of high moral standards and humane values and portray a strong focus on contributing to the betterment of society. Currently, Legacy Pictures will only consider original works and not adaptations of existing material. Screenplays must also comply with the philosophy and format of Legacy Pictures as outlined in “OurVision”. Of particular interest are inspirational stories that are based on true life experiences and insights gained by the common folk who have faced and overcome challenges of all types. Legacy Pictures produces mainly live action musical and mini-musical films. However, we WILL consider non-musical works of exceptional creative flavor and dramatic appeal. In our book, a Musical is defined as a feature-length in which an assemblage of at least ten major musical numbers as well as conversational dialogue is used to advance the story. Examples of family musicals include: “The Sound of Music” (1965), “Annie” (1982), “High School Musical” (2006). A Mini-musical is identical to a musical in every element with the exception that it contains fewer than ten major musical numbers. Examples of family mini-musicals include: “Bright Eyes” (1934), “Ella Enchanted” (2004), “Enchanted” (2007). If submitting a musical or mini-musical, we welcome projects that are accompanied by a full score. Not to worry for those screenwriters who lack access to song writing. Legacy Pictures will work with a team of musicians to provide the sound track for our productions. At this time, Legacy Pictures will consider both represented and unrepresented scripts. Material can also be submitted through an attorney. Submissions must follow the guidelines specified below. If a submission fails to comply with the guidelines, it will be automatically rejected. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES Please email the following items to Legacy Pictures. DO NOT SUBMIT A SCRIPT. If Legacy Pictures is interested in a project, an email will be sent containing detailed instructions for submitting the full script.
